“Don Smith, the Mississippi Troubadour, blends storytelling with soulful guitar and vocals—sharing original songs and fresh takes on timeless classics.”

Don is a retired teacher and coach, now a full-time artist, trained visual artist, and filmmaker with multiple festival selections.

Asked what inspired him to write and record this new song, Smith stated: “I knew Charlie and Calvin and listened to the news reports as they happened back then in 1973 when driving home from Ole Miss to my hometown Pascagoula. I’m the same age as Calvin Parker. Thanks to new computer software I can finally afford to properly demo my songs.”
