Mr Van Payne in the USA was the first man to interview Hickson & Parker on film. We have his film and his permission to use it.
Today he sent us a scan of one of his news releases from that time. This is no smoking gun, but it is a valuable piece of UFO (Pascagoula case) history. As you can see from his email below, he is going to send us more in the mail.
23 August 2025:
Hope all is well with you.
1. The attached is what I wrote for the newsreader to intro and wrap up the story when the interview was first broadcast.
The “————————“ at the bottom of page 1 indicates where the film interview played.
Reviewing those files was a brutal reminder of how ‘quick and dirty’ broadcast writing was in those pre-word processor days. Overstrikes were par and misspellings were cleaned up by the newsreader as he went along…
2. I’ve been sorting files from my days as a reporter and have a stack of AP and UPI clippings and other ephemera that I’d like to pass along to you. The clippings from the wire service teletypes are quite faint after 50 years and would be problematic to scan so I thought I would just send you the lot by post. Can you provide a postal address for me?
Kind regards,
Van Payne
